Grand Weekend: Excursion Time @ Stadium Cafe

If you could go on an excursion anywhere, where would you choose?

Of course, the obvious answer is SEXYLAND.

However, due to my innocent and naive nature, Sexyland is an inappropriate destination for immature people like me. So we just admire from afar, ok?

Instead, how about some more wholesome entertainment? I could go for a bit of some of my favoritist snack food ever... wedges with sour cream & sweet chilli sauce!
 

Mmmmm. This is one of the only Australian foods I miss when I'm in Malaysia (because there's not much to miss when your stuffing your face with ABC). I know of two places that have wedges in Malaysia; DOME and The Garden. But, DOME in The Curve (where I usually go) is very, very inconsistent. Oh yea, and their overpriced drinks are usually flavorless, but when the foods done well its freakin good. One time I ordered wedges there, the sour cream was runny like milk and warm... eww... Next time the sour cream wasn't even sour cream, but tartare sauce! Jeez, whatta u take me for?

Anyhow, the chosen place of excursion for the day was Stadium Cafe. And they do have good wedges (crispy, hot, flavored coating). 

This is a sexy cafe in Waverley Park. There used to be a football stadium there, but it was demolished to put houses there. I remember back when I was a kid, going to watch Hawthorn play there. Mostly I remember cold, rain and hot chips. I suppose now at Stadium I can still enjoy the hot chips, minus the cold (yay!). A small section of the original structure was preserved, and some shops and a gym were opened there.

The restaurant is pretty good, with two sections of outdoor seating, two inner dining areas, and an upstairs section, its huge. It's actually a cafe/bar/lounge. And, and, and they serve all my favorite Australian foods; big breakfast, foccacia, wedges and good coffee! This is the shizzle I wish I could get in KL... maybe I should open a place 'Melbourne Cafe' sellin' all this stuff. Would you come support me if I did?

And here is the coffee. Its decent, not the best but worth spending my cash on. And you get a free chocolate, yummzzzzz!

I was sitting at the L for Lily seat! Apparently these letters, built into the tables, were from the football stadium's original seating.
