Why should we buy the GOLD DISC (Original) and NOT the PURPLE DISC (DVD-R)?
For the longest time I thought this was just an annoying add at the beginning of my movie which I ignored. "Lady, why do you have to bug me every single time I put on a DVD, I just wanna watch my movie dammit" >_<
After a long time of rolling my eyes and ignoring this message, one day, feeling frustrated upon hearing the lady's annoying voice again, I decided to actually listen and see what was SOOO important that they had to blablabla over and over and over again on every DVD.
...OMG
"What art thou wisdom thy have imparted upon me? The purple disc is easily scratched and corrupted? That's the reason that sometimes my movies go crazy and freeze, coz they are a purple disc? And gold discs don't do this? OMG I should have listened to you earlier, annoying lady!"
I realized this lady isn't trying to bug me at all, shes trying to help me. Who'd have thought movie pirates cared so much about us.
And who is this wonderful woman, so selfless and heroic to try to impart the wisdom of the world to us, to help us save money and have a good movie viewing experience. I sometimes wonder how she looks, after having heard her voice so many times. I imagine she looks like a nice aunty; a bit chubby, short chin length hair and thick glasses. Our DVD guardian angel.
I'd never thought about the difference in DVD colours before, and didn't know that the purple discs were more easily screwed. And she is right! Since then I've noticed that nearly every time I buy a purple DVD movie it has problems, like just today when I tried to watch Yes Man. At the beginning of the movie I didnt see a Gold Disc warning, and straight away became suspicious. And of course just as I was getting interested in the movie, it froze and was UNWATCHABLE.
Now I'll never know, should I become a Yes Man too? Did something really horrible happen to him because he said Yes? Should I just be a No Man instead? Can someone tell me? Now I feel my spirit is confused and misguided and I dont know what to do, Yes or No? Or a balance of both... boring! I NEED MEDIA TO INSTRUCT ME AND TELL ME WHAT TO DO IN MY LIFE DECISIONS... sigh, if only I'd brought the Gold Disc...

hahaha. Stupid purple discs. Now we'll never know what happens! To think all these years we've been putting it down to the DVD player, when it's been the freaking DVD. Bastards.
